Bart Johnson Is Expanding On His Tweets About Getting Everyone On His ‘High School Musical’ Podcast, Affirms Juggling Schedules Can Be Difficult | Bart Johnson, High School Musical | Celebrity News and Gossip | Entertainment, Photos and Videos

Bart Johnson has been going viral over the past couple of days.

The 54-year-old actor, perhaps best known for his role as Coach Bolton in the High School Musical Franchise, addressed questions about having the cast on his Get Your Head in the Game podcast.

On Thursday (December 4), Bart tweeted out, “EVERY cast member has been invited to be on the podcast. Almost got everyone,” and noted that only one person turned it down and it wasn’t Zac Efron.

The next day, he took to his Twitter/X account again to reiterate and expand on his original comments.

In a series of long tweets, Bart said that his goal was to get everyone on the pod, from his co-stars to the dancers, filmmakers and more. Director/choreographer Kenny Ortega was the latest guest!

“I’ve been overwhelmed, touched, and so grateful for everyone’s effort to come on and share some of their favorite memories, private things they’ve never shared before, and how much the franchise and the fans mean to them,” he said. “Great sacrifice and effort has been made for them to carve out time in their schedules, and the guests have opened up their hearts in such a beautiful way. Vanessa [Hudgens] even made time right before she gave birth to her new little baby!! It’s been remarkable and beautiful, and I’m so grateful for everyone.”

Bart continued that more are trying to work it out with their schedules, and he noted that filming schedules “can be so demanding and the unpredictable hours get LONG.”

He also added that while the cast has talked about the movies so much over the past 20 years, noted that they haven’t been interviewed about them from a fellow cast member, and he wanted the podcast to be a more personal approach.

“We were all in it together since day one and took this ride together and the idea was to give a different, more personal and insightful take on everyone’s experiences making the movies and being a part of this very special franchise. I hope that’s what we have been able to do with this podcast,” he said.

As for the person who said no, Bart said he guarantees that he’ll be able to get them on the pod at some point and they will “talk about it, have a good laugh. Promise!! 😂😂”

“It’s all good. We’re all human, and we’re all entitled to feeling tired of the same old stuff sometimes. I don’t take it personally, and neither should you. Just know that the abundance of love and gratitude everyone has for the fans—and for this franchise that changed EVERYONE’S lives—is 100% real. 🙏❤️”

A lot of people have been asking, so let mw clear it up: EVERY member of the cast has been invited on the podcast. My goal was to get ALL the actors, dancers, singers and filmmakers. ALL of them!! I’ve been overwhelmed, touched, and so grateful for everyone’s effort to come on and share some of their favorite memories, private things they’ve never shared before, and how much the franchise and the fans mean to them.

Great sacrifice and effort has been made for them to carve out time in their schedules, and the guests have opened up their hearts in such a beautiful way. Vanessa even made time right before she gave birth to her new little baby!! It’s been remarkable and beautiful, and I’m so grateful for everyone.

A few cast members are working out of the country, juggling schedules, and doing their best to make it happen. Shooting schedules can be so demanding and the unpredictable hours get LONG. Again, everyone has been invited and almost everyone has already been a guest on the podcast. It’s been the best reunion I could have ever hoped for.

Still trying to find ways to give back to the fans on the actual 20-year anniversary of opening day: January 6th, 2026. I’ll be giving away some of the memorabilia I have for free to fans. Chucky is selling his ring and giving the money to charity. KayCee and I are trying to host a free watch party at East High—check back for details and send me your ideas if you have any!
Still looking for ways to say THANK YOU to all you Wildcats!! ❤️🏀🐾 #Happy20YearsHSM #HighSchoolMusical

The cast has all been interviewed to death over the last two decades, but the cast has never been interviews by the cast. We were all in it together since day one and took this ride together and the idea was to give a different, more personal and insightful take on everyone’s experiences making the movies and being a part of this very special franchise. I hope that’s what we have been able to do with this podcast. The comments from all of you have been amazing and this has turned out to be far more than I ever anticipated. Like always, it’s because of the most incredible fans on earth. You are the best. Ever. Love you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ 🏀🐾

Yes, one cast member did say, “No. I’ve been talking about this film for 20 years and I’m done talking about it.” 😂 I didn’t take it personally at all—and nobody else should either! I actually thought it was hilarious, and I can guarantee you I’ll eventually get this person on the podcast. We’ll talk about it, have a good laugh. Promise!! 😂😂

It’s all good. We’re all human, and we’re all entitled to feeling tired of the same old stuff sometimes. I don’t take it personally, and neither should you. Just know that the abundance of love and gratitude everyone has for the fans—and for this franchise that changed EVERYONE’S lives—is 100% real. 🙏❤️
