Mae Whitman is starring in Hallmark Channel’s new holiday limited series Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas and fans might be curious to know more about her real-life relationship status.
The 37-year-old actress is best known for her work on shows like Parenthood and Good Girls, as well as movies like The DUFF and Hope Floats.
In the new Hallmark series, Mae plays a textile pattern designer who is looking for love and she actually found love on the set of a recent project.

Mae is in a relationship with her Up Here co-star Carlos Valdes.
Mae and Carlos met on the set of the Hulu musical series Up Here in 2022. The show premiered on the streamer in March 2023 and was sadly canceled after just one season.
In August 2024, Mae took to her Instagram account to surprise fans with the news that she had given birth to her first child.
“Not to be a Bieber about it but I too just gave birth to our son, Miles. From the moment we heard the first tiny sound out of his tiny piggy mouth we were besotted. He is the kindest, gentlest, smartest, funniest little beebee and he’s our best friend (pretty much exactly like his namesake Uncle Miles @younggoth),” Mae said at the time.
Mae named her son after her Parenthood on-screen brother Miles Heizer.
At the time, Mae didn’t reveal the identity of her child’s father. Parenthood co-star Lauren Graham is the one who revealed that news in March 2025.
“I’m trying to think the last time [I saw her],” Lauren said in an interview at the time. “They’re in New York now. Carlos, her baby daddy, is on Broadway in Hadestown, which I feel happy to plug because he’s fantastic in it, Carlos Valdes.”
“He’s really great,” she continued. “And so they’re in New York for the next while and then she got this job in Ireland. So she’s in Ireland with the baby.”
Mae went to Ireland to film Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas.
In October 2025, Mae revealed that she and Carlos were still going strong as a couple when she shared a rare photo of them together.
